Shellies Country Cafe in Helena

I have come here multiple times and received nothing...nothing but exceptional food and service. The wait staff is friendly. The cooks are good at what they do. Love this place

Nice variety on the menu. They even have gluten free pancakes and toast and hamburger buns.

I'm not sure who our waitress was but she was amazing! ( She had long brown hair) She was on top of her game! Food was fast and delicious, thank you!!

Very attentive staff. Try their chicken fried steak which is the best and yummy all the time. The meat loaf also is one of the favorites we always ordering hete.😘

Good food, good atmosphere, and good service. What else can you ask for? Funny signs having on the wall? They got that too. It was entertaining to read them all while waiting for the delicious food. Next time I'm back in town, I'll definitely be back here again.

What a surprise! Delightful staff. We were there post-symphony and found other music lovers there along with quite a mix of tourists and locals at this all hours diner that specializes in homemade pies. I always worry about the mystery "better living through chemistry " yellow oils but my grilled,cheese with a side of fries was quite tasty and without any odd aftertaste. Perfect late night place when the rest of the city has "rolled up the streets."

Just discovered this place. Really good home food..! We will be back ..we ordered a breakfast meal for lunch and the portions were plentiful.. the sight s are hilarious to read..!!

The moment we walked through the door we were greeted with a warm welcome. The waitress told us to sit wherever we would like. We were promptly greeted by the waitress at our table. Our drinks never went empty, salads were brought our quickly followed by our food. I had the 2 piece chicken strip dinner with corn, baked potato and buttered toast. My husband had the chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn and buttered toast. It was a great home cooked meal, definitely worth the stop.

The country fried steak here is great, and was as big as my cousins face. We came back a second time for a couple days and tried the milkshakes. Pure good food, with friendly staff.

Great little cafe for anytime of day. The staff are the BEST. I took my 3 kids there and the staff were so involved with the kids. I love foing to eat here with my family.

Excellent food. Fast friendly service. Great for a quick bite. Feels like a local spot where everyone is welcome. The servers are friendly and on top of things without being pushy or obnoxious about it. You can really tell it's a good work environment.

Shelly's is the absolute best breakfast place in town. Coffee is always perfect and the food is overflowing your plate. Staff is always friendly too.

This is a great local spot. I come here somewhat often and the food is always great. They serve breakfast all day, which is great for when you want some pancakes for dinner! The highlight here is their amazing pie, it is hands down the best pie in town. you can also order whole pies to take home for holidays or just because and they are conveniently open 24/7.

Sally's is amazing. They have great customer service. Very friendly and their pie is to die for. Prices are very reasonable for the portions that they serve. Oh and the food is always good.

What a gem tucked away in this little town. Had the Friday special tuna sandwich and best clam chowder I ever had. Service was fast and friendly. The place was busy and filled with locals. If you are in the area, I recommend you stop in.

They have such great food! The best place to eat in Helena! We loved the fact that they are open 24/7. They have gf toast option and are mindful of preparing gluten free items as carefully as possible. Their omelettes are the best I have ever had and the portion sizes are crazy! Their cheese fries are another one of my favorites. They have a great menu with many options. It was so nice to get a home cooked style meal while being on the road and tired of fast food.

I got their "Holy cow chicken fried steak" dinner and I 110% understand why they call it that. The plate it came on was the size of the hood of my car. The chicken fried steak was HUGE and came with mashed potatoes and corn as well as chicken & dumpling soup (The soup was also absolutely amazing 'just like mom used to make' ) the meal was easily two meals. It was delicious and I'll definitely return. They also had a large selection of pies and desserts which all looked and sounded amazing. I HIGHLY suggest you check this place out. It's also a truck stop so truckers stop on in. It's more than worth it. Quality+quantity. 11/10

Walked in during a very busy lunch rush, wait staff was so quick and we got our food very fast even though it was so busy. Waitress was the nicest and very professional without being stiff. Absolutely amazing place I loved it.

Just plain good food! I ordered tomato soup in a bread bowl, which was obviously homemade with chunks of tomatoes and cream, in a crusty sourdough bun. Hubby loved his burger! The strawberry rhubarb pie with huckleberry ice cream was memorably delicious! Service was friendly and efficient. Price was reasonable. Only 4 stars...? Should probably be five... But the noise level was a bit too high for comfort.

Food was hot fast and yummy, however all the waitresses seemed to be having a bad day our server Dani didn’t seem very happy when she was having a conversation with her co workers she just kept saying I’m not staying until 4:30! Holy cow is it loud in there very hard to have a conversation!

Nothing but just good old fashioned cooking

For the life of me I cannot remember my waitress's name. It starts with an S. July 8, 2020 around 1030pm was when I was there. The food was great, but her service was EXCELLENT. Im moving here later this week and thanks to her, I will frequent this cafe as much as i can.

Yummy food and very clean plus great weight staff.plus open all night where everything else is closed. I have never had a bad experience the times I have been here. Always a good choice.

My husband and I LOVE Shellies...I usually order the deep fried mushrooms and onion rings because they're the best in Helena~recently called to see if they are serving Christmas dinner~they are, Prime Rib~ My long-haul trucker hubby usually orders breakfast of some kind, (which they serve round the clock)with biscuits and gravy, which I steal some of because YUM!! We've eaten all across the country, from California to N. Carolina, Washington to Florida but here in Helena this is our favorite place for a good meal out~it's not even close to fancy, but I'm looking for comfy with great eats~it's usually busy but that's a good sign that the food is good and it is!! Shellies atmosphere is super relaxed, interesting things on the walls, great service, friendly servers, good prices and delicious food~bring the kids~bring friends~ bring everyone and bring your appetite~

The best prime rib for your dollar in Helena. You get a massive platter of prime rib your choice of potato, green beans, sauteed mushrooms and toast for $27 a meal worth coming back for.

Stopped in for coffee and PIE and Shellies did not disappoint!!💯 The PIE was AMAZING 😍 There was four of us and we all ordered something different (then taste tested them all). We tried the banana cream, the German chocolate, the peanut butter chocolate & the butterscotch. They were BIG 🥧slices too😁 The pies are homemade and they have a huge selection to choose from. I could have taken a piece of each one to go...lol. The coffee was hot fresh and tasty as well!!
